Sagarminaga Atelier is a creation studio dedicated to raw materiality and natural fibers. We design and craft site-specific installations and signature pieces for international luxury, architecture, and high-end interior projects.

Our Team
As a multidisciplinary studio, Sagarminaga Atelier unites artisans, designers, technical specialists, and project managers to bring artistic visions to life. We specialize in material research, developing proprietary techniques across natural fibers (such as esparto grass and rattan) porcelain, leather, metal, and textiles. Our team manages every phase of the project lifecycle, from technical feasibility and spatial exploration to workshop crafting and on-site installation. Through this end-to-end oversight, we ensure precision, master execution, and full compliance with the standards of luxury houses, hospitality, and international cultural institutions.

Gabriela de Sagarminaga
Founder
Gabriela de Sagarminaga is the founder and creative director of Sagarminaga Atelier, a studio where art, contemporary design and advanced fiber research converge into a singular craft language.
Following her early career in Barcelona's fashion industry, she immersed herself in research across Latin America, at the intersection of social innovation and textile traditions. This initiative transformed her perception of her own practice, solidifying her vision of craftsmanship as a living agent of culture, identity, and development. Upon her return, she focused her practice on the relationship between territory, nature, and architecture, finding in natural fibers the physical and symbolic core of her work. By deconstructing heritage craft techniques, she pushes the boundaries of organic fibers —exploring structural tension, volume, and installation at an ever larger scale. In 2017, she established her studio in Bilbao, where she directs research projects and bespoke collaborations for internationally renowned brands and institutions.
