Cantabrian and Mediterranean influences weaved into custom craftsmanship.

What is a studio located in the Basque Country doing when it decides to bring an aesthetic proposal with Mediterranean brushstrokes?

Apart from the fact that we understand design as a combination of influences, without delimited borders, it is true that we have a past that closely links us to warmer climates.

Gabriela, born in Bilbao, has family roots divided between two very different provinces: her father is basque, her mother is catalan. She has spent a large part of her life straddling between Bilbao, the Costa Brava and Barcelona. This reality has marked her vision and, as a result, it guides the paths we take at the Atelier.

Our work is pure custom craftsmanship that also leaves room for the creator's perspective. However, to interpret the wishes of our clients, we appeal to our professional criteria, to the standards and directions that we set in the workshop.

Although each piece is co-created between the interior designers or architects and us, and is adapted to the culture and qualities of each project, there are always particular expressions in the design of the pieces. This is how the influence of origins leaves its mark.

For this reason, our creative proposal is a clash between the prevailing force of the Cantabrian Sea and the serene beauty of the Mediterranean. Between the heat and the rain. Between nature and asphalt.

This shock is reflected in the materials we use. On the one hand, materials from humid Cantabrian environments, such as chestnut or wicker, and on the other, dry materials such as esparto grass.

With this clash of Cantabrian and Mediterranean forces, we design solutions that fuel the creativity of interior designers and architects. In each project we learn and use our skills to empathize with clients, to stimulate their senses. We have grown accustomed to working in changing environments and have learned to simplify complexity to make collaboration as easy and enjoyable as possible.

As a result of this, we receive expressions of surprise in each project. Because the pieces we create are contemporary and seek to distinguish our clients.
