Tuna ExMachina takes its name from the Greek “deus ex machina”: that unexpected force capable of transforming the course of a scene. In our interpretation, it is not a god who bursts onto the scene, but a fish.

This kinetic sculpture is made of wood, esparto—a fine, dry, organic material—and features metal details. At 3.2 meters long, it is an exact replica of the largest bluefin tuna ever recorded at sea.

The metallic embroidery captures and reflects the light in the space, evoking the shimmer of a fish's scales underwater and filling the installation with a vibrant, almost mythical presence.
